Created by Mara Brock Akil (The Game,) Girlfriends revolves around four women of color in Los Angeles -- high-powered attorney Joan (Tracee Ellis Ross), her assistant, Maya (Golden Brooks), and friends Toni (Jill Marie Jones) and Lynn (Persia White). Adding to the mix is Joan's co-worker, William (Reggie Hayes), who brings the occasional male perspective to the otherwise all-girls take on the typical Sex and the City life issues. Girlfriends began its UPN run with these episodes in September 2000 and proved successful enough to survive longer than the network, moving to the new CW net that evolved out of the UPN-WB merger. April 26, 2007: I love Girlfriends and was so excited when it hit the stores on DVD. I watch each DVD over and over, especially when I can't find anything to watch on TV. I really can't wait for the second season to be released. But I have to admit, I don't care for the new episodes without Toni. There was so much more chemistry amongst the girls when she was on the show. The whole set has changed. Even the audio is poor. Please hurry and release season 2. Cathy F.

April 15, 2007: Since my girlfriends are the glue that keep me sane, at times, so is this group of friends. I enjoy watching them help each other through situations and learn the hard way through others. It's refreshing to see an African-American cast in such a positive light. I can't wait for season two!
