Editorial Reviews

The price of spaceship fuel is skyrocketing, leaving the Planet Express crew with the treacherous task of infiltrating the world's only dark matter mine to acquire the precious fuel that keeps their world running smoothly. But deep beneath the mine, far under the surface, is a medieval land of fantasy where dragons roam free, sorcerers cast powerful spells, and drunken knights who bear an uncanny resemblance to Bender stumble about aimlessly. Featuring the voices of former Star Trek star George Takei and famed comic impressionist Rich Little. Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

I am Still Laughingby Bob_G_Trapp

April 27, 2009: This is one of the best of the bunch. Take the Futurama guys and let them run with all the nerd jokes they can muster. They are in their element and it is good to see them in their natural habitat.

Of course, I'm just as big a geek as the people who make the show (I run a computer science lab in a small college) so I am the target audience for the series. Of all the Futurama films, this one is the best.

This film is the perfect salute to the late Gary Gygax, one of the creators of the Dungeons and Dragons role playing games and one of the fathers of role playing games in general. But even if you don't know your bugbear from your dark matter, there's a good chance you will enjoy this movie. If you even paid a little attention in science class or while watching public television, the science will prove interesting. If that's not enough for you, well, there's always the sex.

This movie is definitely worth the time to view... repeatedly. It will give to your laughter points and raise your entertainment three whole levels.

The best one yet!by CaesarSalad

November 07, 2008: I'll admit it, straight out. I'm a huge fan of Futurama. Right up there on my list of dream jobs is working for the crew that puts together these wonderful shows. I'm also a big nerd when it comes to role playing games. So it's probably no surprise that I really dug Bender's Game. A loving homage to Dungeons and Dragons and everything Gygaxian, Bender's Game manages to be much funnier that the previous films. It still suffers from a bit of a disjointed nature, as if the writers still aren't comfortable outside of the half hour format, but the constant barrage of sight gags and laugh out loud lines make up for any pacing problems. There's also a good deal more shameless fan service in this production - group showers, pleasurable punishment devices, and girl on girl makeouts. It's definitely a must for any Futurama fan. Bring on The Wild Green Yonder!

I Also Recommend: Futurama - Volume 1, Futurama - Vol. 2, Futurama - Volume 3, Futurama - Volume 4, Futurama - Bender's Big Score.
