Editorial Reviews

David Tennant returns as the Doctor in this Doctor Who episode that aired as an Easter special in April 2009 in the U.K. Joining him (although not as a Companion) is Michelle Ryan as Lady Christina de Souza, a professional thief who gets tangled up with the Time Lord when she hops on a bus to avoid arrest and is instead sucked into a wormhole along with all the other passengers. The London double-decker ends up on the desert-covered planet of San Helios, out of gas and damaged beyond repair. The Doctor and Christina join forces in an effort to get themselves and their fellow passengers back through the wormhole -- before a mysterious and deadly swarm devours them all! And don't miss the making-of featurette, Doctor Who: Confidential, detailing the challenges the crew faced in getting a London bus to Dubai and into the middle of the Arabian Desert, without a convenient wormhole Christina Urban, Barnes & Noble

November 15, 2009: As the END of the 10th Doctor Who is coming closer and closer the stories are getting better and better.Ther are only three more Episodes left until the NEW DOCTOR,

MATT SMITH will take over as the 11th DOCTOR WHO.

Planet of the Dead is about as GREAT as the SERIES gets and will make it all the harder for MATT SMITH to keep up the NEW TRADITION of GREAT STORIES going on.

September 28, 2009: Doctor Who "Planet of the Dead" was an incredible disappointment. If you are familiar with and love Doctor Who and the series with David Tennant, you will notice immediately that "Planet of the Dead" is completely different than the series. This could have been a good thing, but in this case it turned out to be a failure. The storyline was fine, but the script was bordering American Disney Original (made for television) movies. Even David Tennant's performance as The Doctor, which I feel has always been stellar, seemed lacking in believability. To sum up this review in the words of my child who was watching this with me, "This Doctor Who is cheesy". My last words - if I could return this DVD, I would.

This review was written about the Blu-ray Wide Screen edition.

I Also Recommend: Doctor Who - The Next Doctor - 2008 Christmas Special.
