    Editorial Reviews

In this clever reworking of The Stepford Wives, a sinister high school guidance counselor turns rebellious teenagers into a zombie-like tribe of sexually repressed, model students known as "the Blue Ribbons." But drop-dead gorgeous James Marsden, the new kid in school, soon figures out that there are dark forces at work behind his perfect classmates' squeaky clean facades. Katie Holmes (Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Dawson's Creek) co-stars as the good "bad girl" who helps him battle the forces that are transforming their high school into a conformist horror show, and X-Files director David Nutter gives the film an air of stylish gloom. High school has never been scarier. Kryssa Schemmerling, Barnes & Noble
