Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a remake of the 1964 film farce Bedtime Story. Steve Martin and Michael Caine take over the roles originally played by Marlon Brando and David Niven: two international con artists, plying their trade on gullible wealthy women up and down the Riviera. Martin and Caine vie over the honor of fleecing ingenuous heiress Glenne Headly (in a role originated by Shirley Jones). Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

    Two delightful plot twistsby Anonymous

January 16, 2006: This movie about two con men on the French Riviera inspired the Broadway musical of the same name, in which John Lithgow gives Michael Caine's character from the film a more egotisical bent. Having seen both the play and the movie, both of which are great, I still prefer the film version - especially because of Steve Martin's outlandish approach to his character. The story wraps up with not one, but two, delightful plot twists.
