Bubbling up from the primordial ooze of New Wave boop-boop bands in the early '80s, Depeche Mode proved to be a synthesizer act with more mettle than most, and a loyal following to prove it. Since bursting onto the North American charts in 1984 with the hit single "People Are People," the band has been a study in versatility, even veering into bluesy, rock-centric waters with the album Songs of Faith and Devotion. This concert disc, filmed live during the band’s Exciter tour in 2001, includes an incendiary two-hour show, presented here with a Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound mix.
