Deep Purple began their career as one of Britain's pioneering hard rock bands in 1968, and with the dawn of the new millennium they're still going strong, wowing fans in concert around the world. Deep Purple: Perihelion features the latest version of the band -- vocalist Ian Gillian, guitarist Steve Morse, keyboardist Jon Lord, bassist Roger Glover, and drummer Ian Paice -- performing a set of old and new favorites, along with interviews with the members of the group and a glimpse at what goes on backstage. Deep Purple: Perihelion features fourteen songs, including "Highway Star," "Smoke On The Water," "Woman From Tokyo," and " Hush." Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

March 03, 2003: deep purples show was brilliant again.Morse seems to become more in the band and plays wonderfully, and i must say that it could not have been easy to replase Richie(fill Richies place with succes)put jet Morse has done it.Paice is still doing hes stuff like nobody else,in words better than enyone.Lord was great as usually Hammond ruled, too bad he retired-hopefully not forewer.Glover is mastering his baseguitar with true Purple demand and he is really the forsefull player. Gillan,my personal fawourite singer ewer was brilliant and his voice is still the Purple voice(what time is this waaaaaahhh)you know what i mean.It is great that the band has fun on stage spite that Richie is away ore because that he is elsewere(Blackmore`s Night).Mary long sounded as good as in who do we think we are ore better, nice that Purple plays it again after 30 years. The gig was one of the best I have seen. I thaaaaaaankyouuuuuh.See you in Helsinki 10.06.2003
