Editorial Reviews

After Kevin Williamson turned the horror genre on its ear with the stratospherically successful Scream, he became the writer he'd always dreamed of becoming -- John Hughes. Drawing heavily from his own childhood, Williamson created Dawson's Creek, the most dead-on portrayal of teen angst this side of My So-Called Life. The series centered on Dawson Leery (James Van Der Beek) and Joey Potter (Katie Holmes), two 15-year-olds dancing the thin line between friendship and relationship while navigating the hormonally charged maze that is modern high school life. Dawson's Creek also thrived thanks to Joshua Jackson (The Mighty Ducks) and Michelle Williams (Dick), two young actors who adeptly handled Williamson's hyperverbal scripts and made them sound somehow believable. The star, however, is Holmes, who came of age in Ang Lee's The Ice Storm and continues to mature throughout the series, ultimately overshadowing the eponymous Dawson as the show's true protagonist. This three-disc set includes all 13 episodes from the Creek's debut season, plus commentary by Williamson and the featurette "Dawson's Creek: From Day One." Barnes & Noble

BEST SHOW OF ALL TIME!by Anonymous

December 19, 2004: Wow!!! This movie is over the top amazing!! I don't even know where to start. If more shows would be like this TV crashing on the couch to watch something would be a #1 priority for EVERYONE. This isn't a normal show....where you can predict what happens next. This is a head-on out to conquer the world show. I laughed, I cried (pretty hard too!)and its just so realistic you feel like your there (in Capeside)! I am definitly getting the other seasons the day they come out. The thing with this show also is that, even though it doesn't have many disks, the episodes are so intense and so realistic that it seems like hours before one episode is over......and the episodes are ones where your on the edge of your seat the whole time and when it ends it seems like you've been holding your breath the whole time!! Its amazing what the story does to you! I recomend this HIGHLY.
