Tracing the Dave Matthews Band's talent in a different arena, The Videos: 1994-2001 is essentially the flip side of their immensely popular, fittingly titled Listener Supported live DVD. While the Listener disc glistened with multiple angles and skin-tight jams, Videos reveals how charged the music is, even when reined in by studio production. The program ranges from early, jamming tracks like "Tripping Billies" -- which presents the first appearance of DMB violin virtuoso Boyd Tinsley -- to the band's latest anthem, "The Space Between." Mind you, there is live footage, too; Videos boasts a devout Charlie Rose profile from 60 Minutes 2 as well as a few incendiary solos from various live shows. The DVD edition also contains audio commentary for each of the clips, giving viewers a chance to hear why "I Did It" director David Meyers recast the DMB as a troupe of funkified jesters cavorting with bootylicious bikini models. Also included are "What Would You Say," "Ants Marching," "Satellite," "Too Much," "So Much to Say," "Crash into Me," "Don't Drink the Water," "Stay (Wasting Time)," "Crush," and a David Lee Roth homage that is spandex for the soul.
