Editorial Reviews

From its January 2003 debut -- Comedy Central's all-time biggest, with more than 2.5 million viewers -- Chappelle's Show has been a solid hit, building a sizable audience for this stand-up veteran. The time-tested format finds Chappelle standing before a live audience to introduce a series of sketches featuring Chappelle and other comics, with an emphasis on the politically incorrect. (As Chappelle boasts: "It's not HBO -- it's regular-ass TV!") All 12 episodes of the first season are included in this box set. Five of the episodes feature commentary tracks from Chappelle and his series co-creator/co-writer Neal Brennan, whose first successful pairing with the star was in co-authoring the 1998 cannabis-cult classic Half Baked. July 13, 2004: This is the funniest show i've seen since Mad TV. Dave Chappelle is a genius. I put him up with Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy any day.
