Editorial Reviews

Author Nora Roberts' tense tale of second sight comes to the screen in this drama directed by Stephen Tolkin. Lately, Tory Bodeen (Claire Forlani) has been experiencing a series of frightening visions that seem to be beckoning her back to her small hometown. As the visions become increasingly intense, the brutal murder of Tory's childhood friend Hope is subsequently revealed to have been but the first in a brutal series of slayings that rocked the tightly knit community to its very core. Every year the killer claims another life, and now it seems that he has anticipated Tory's return. Now, as Tory attempts to catch the killer before becoming his next victim, her blossoming romance with Hope's handsome older brother Cade (Oliver Hudson) proves that the only thing more powerful than passion is the fear of death. August 07, 2009: This movie is awful!! Maybe it's because I really enjoyed the book and I had high hopes. However, I doubt it. It was just awful!! Read the book though it's great

April 07, 2009: Tory hasn't been to her hometown, where years earlier her best friend, Hope, was killed, since she was a kid. Her abusive father packed up and left, with her and her mother in tow. Now she's back. But she's suddenly seeing things; she knows someone else is about to be killed and Hope's spirit tells her it's her turn. How will she handle the threat of murder along with the hatred she feels from Hope's family, her own hatred for her father, and everything else plaguing her?

This movie is great for a girl's night if you want a little mystery involved with your romance. The love story is sweet and touching. The mystery, gripping. The story has such intrigue it catches you and doesn't let go.

I like the southern style of the movie and the characters. The pace is sometimes fast and sometimes slow, which can become slightly annoying at times. Tory's character can be a little aggravating the way she tries to turn Cade down, but in the end I think that Cade helps her in her change of heart. His character is cute, charming, sweet.everything you could want in your male lead. He's a definite hero, in my book.

All in all, I like this movie a lot. It's not the best, but it is enjoyable and interesting. At the end, I was left with a couple of questions, but I'm thinking I need to read the book to better understand them. I would suggest all other Nora Roberts movies.

I Also Recommend: Angels Fall, Montana Sky, Blue Smoke.
