Editorial Reviews

Dropping from TV’s second- to third-highest rated show in this 2005-6 season, CSI nevertheless remains at the top of its game in Season 6. This time the whole CSI group is reunited in the season opener, "Bodies in Motion," bringing lead investigators Gil Grissom (William Petersen) and Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) back together with their respective teams: Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan), Nick Stokes (George Eads), Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda), and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox), along with Dr. Al Robbins (Robert David Hall) and police department liaison Captain Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle). Corpses in and around the environs of Las Vegas remain the focus of the show: 11 bodies are discovered in an abandoned military compound in "Shooting Stars"; a man afflicted with hypertrichosis (excess hair) turns up dead in "Werewolves"; and whip-wielding dominatrix Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke) returns in "Pirates of the Third Reich," bent on avenging her daughter’s murder. This season also finds a newer focus on the personal lives of the investigators: Stokes is still recovering from the harrowing events of being buried alive in Season 5; Brown gets a new wife (Daybreak's Meta Golding) in a spur-of-the-moment wedding; Willows continues to juggle the needs of her daughter with the responsibilities of her job; and poor Brass is shot in the midst of a hostage negotiation in the tense two-parter "Bang-Bang"/"Way to Go." But nothing lit up the CSI message boards on the Internet like the closing moments of the season-ending "Way to Go." In a scene that can only be interpreted as intentionally vague, longtime flirts Sidle and Grissom are seen sitting together on a bed -- wearing bathrobes. Christina Urban, Barnes & Noble
