The star-director team of Charles Bronson and Tom Gries (Breakheart Pass) combine their efforts again on Breakout. Bronson plays Nick Colton, a reckless pilot who heads to an unnamed South American country, in hopes of rescuing imprisoned Jay Wagner (Robert Duvall). Villain Harris Wagner (John Huston), who has framed Jay, has an unlimited supply of henchmen at his disposal, but they're no match for the dauntless Colton. July 22, 2002: In 1975, the Michigan Dept. of Corrections showed this film to inmates at Jackson State Prison. Two days later, the dramatic helicopter escape scene was played out in the prison courtyard. It was without the same cinematic success. Life imitating art aside, this is a quickie enjoyable Bronson timewaster. Lots of action and a very viewable Sheri North in lingerie that leaves nothing to the imagination. Good little flick.
