Blue Oyster Cult have for three decades been one of America's most intelligent and forward thinking hard rock bands, and this live video, shot during a 2002 appearance at Chicago's Navy Pier, finds the band still going strong in the 21st Century. Blue Oyster Cult: A Long Day's Night features the band performing seventeen songs, including "Don't Fear The Reaper," "Godzilla," "Stairway To The Stars," "Cities On Flame," "Burning For You," "The Red and the Black," and "E.T.I.". October 14, 2002: Is this a comeback for Blue Oyster Cult? Hardly. The band has been touring and recording for over thirty years now, and as the last two studio albums Heaven Forbid and Curse of the Hidden Mirror indicate, their creative force is just as vital as it was in the days of Don't Fear the Reaper. As good as a studio band BOC is, the live shows are what really show their enduring power. A Long Day's Night captures the band in fine form in Chicago in June 2002, with an inspired setlist. As always, Burning for You, Godzilla and Reaper are highlights, but listen too for unjustly obscure gems, particularly Perfect Water. Then, when Blue Oyster Cult comes to your town, go see them live.
