Editorial Reviews

"For Dummies," the Hungry Minds line of instructional books with familiar yellow and black jackets, makes a foray into home video with this beginner's yoga workout. Using twelve basic poses ("The Daily Dozen") along with "Myth Busters," "Jargon Alerts," and "Tips," instructor Sara Ivanhoe lays the groundwork for a thorough understanding of correct yoga postures and their benefits. The exercises provide a balanced workout with equal emphasis on upper- and lower-body; no special equipment is necessary. ~ Sarah Welsh, All Movie Guide All Movie Guide

August 15, 2009: Sara is very good in explaining the proper form and breathing. I got this video as a total beginner and her careful instructions served me well. I like the "intermediate" short workout that is included doing the sun salutations. She has a calming very positive manner.

I don't like the stupid little noises Dummies inserts for alerting you to special info. Distracts from the concentration of yoga. I think you can turn those off though. Not that big a distraction for me.

February 21, 2006: I thought this video was great! It really taught me new ways to stay focused and reduce my stress level. And it's not difficult, or too easy. And like other reviewers said, it is not intimidating. To me, yoga is actually fun now comparred to other videos I have seen before.
