Join Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington (Robert Conrad) as he leads a group of fighter pilots through some of the most daring and dazzling combat missions of WWII over the South Pacific. Ever at odds with his superiors, the highly decorated Boyington quits the Flying Tigers, finagles a major's commission, and organizes his own contingent of misfits and screw-ups, which he dubs the Black Sheep Squadron. Costarring Simon Oakland, Dana Elcar, John Larroquette, James Whitmore Jr., Dirk Blocker, W. K. Stratton, and Robert Ginty as the unconventional airmen, this entertaining series is loaded with legendary warplanes and action-packed combat footage. The series is loosely based on the memoirs of the real-life "Pappy" Boyington. This three-disc set contains the last 12 episodes of Season 1, which aired from 1976-77.
