Editorial Reviews

Animaniacs Vol. 3 continues the misadventures of Warner brothers Yakko (Rob Paulesen) and Wakko (Jess Harnell) and their sister Dot (Tress MacNeille) -- characters who were so beyond the control of studio executives that they were locked away during the 1930s. Sprung from their water tower prison on Warner Bros.' Burbank, California, lot in 1993, they returned some of the anarchic wit and slapstick missing from the cartoons of the period. This third volume in the series includes 25 Animaniacs episodes from their 1994-95 season on Fox. From the Studio

March 09, 2009: The first two discs of this third and final volume of Animaniacs are fantastic, and in fact contain some of my favorite sketches (eg. Frontier Slappy and the Warners' Jack and the Beanstalk) but the last three discs are basically worthless. These discs represent the end of the series's life, and one can see why. Pinky and the Brain have their own show, and are therefore gone, the opening credits change several times (the audio often not syncing with the visuals) for the worse. The ballance of the episodes is all off (one episode is almost entirely "Mime Time"). The disc menue has gotten more annoying as well. After all that, it's still worth getting this set just for the first two discs, they are that great.

I Also Recommend: Animaniacs - Volume 1, Animaniacs - Vol. 2.
