Trick or Treason sounds like an unpublished Ann Coulter book, but it's really a collection of Alvin and the Chipmunk stories that will get children in the Halloween mood. The title story is a cautionary tale of peer pressure in which social-climbing Alvin is determined to join the Monster Club, "the coolest club in the whole wide world." Theodore objects that its members are "power-crazed bullies," but Alvin will not be dissuaded until the club's initiation requires him to play a cruel prank on the local neighborhood outcast nicknamed Pumpkinhead, whom all the other children fear until Simon befriends him. Four other Halloween-ready treats make their DVD debut, including another story with a nice message about the perils of misjudging people, "Babysitter Fright Night," as well as "Theodore's Life as a Dog," "Nightmare on Seville Street," and "No Chipmunk Is an Island."
