René Artois (Gorden Kaye) is a simple man who desires nothing more than to run his quiet French café as World War II rages around him. Before the German invasion, his biggest concern was hiding transgressions with his waitresses from his overbearing, tone-deaf wife, Edith (Carmen Silvera). The riotous seventh series of this beloved comedy finds René attempting to flee to England to avoid execution by either the Germans or the Resistance, but not before rescuing his mother-in-law. She was last seen, as usual, in her bed, but this time she's with Leclerc (Jack Haig) and attached to a hot air balloon headed due south! But first he must smuggle food to the clueless downed British airmen, who are stranded in a storm drain. Only world peace can bring poor René some peace! This set includes all ten episodes of the seventh series, which originally aired on BBC1 in 1991. From the Studio
