April 06, 2009: You can't go wrong with Miss Marple! It keeps you interested and provides you a murder mysery without all of the gore. I sometimes have a difficult time with the British accent films, but I did fine with this one. I want to own the entire set!

I Also Recommend: Midsomer Murders Set 1.

November 30, 2007: This set was really a terrific present for me! I have read most of Agatha Christie's books about Miss Marple but didn't think I'd enjoy it on film. The series does the best to bring Christie's books to life and with only a few changes. Joan Hickson is on the mark as Christie's Miss Marple. She is clever and always fools the killer into believing that she is too old to figure it all out. My favorites are Murder at the Vicarage and Nemesis. The wonderful Donald Plesance is terrific as the grouchy millionaire who first dismisses Miss Marple as an elderly busybody, they realizes she's anything but. His Jason Rafiel character gives Miss Marple the moniker of "Nemesis." I also enjoyed Bertram's Hotel because it's a rare time we see Miss Marple out of Saint Mary Mead. Like the Poirot series, all of the sets and scripts are very enjoyable. The acting is terrific.
